How Much to Run that Space Heater?
Heres the correct formula.
First, find out how many watts the heater uses.
A kilowatt hour (kWh) equals 1,000 watt hours, and our residential energy rate is $0.07385/kWh.
Watts X hrs used = Total watt hours
Total watt hours divided by 1,000 = Total kWh used
kWh used X $0.07385 = daily cost
So... If your heater uses 1500 watts and you run it 12 hours each day:
1500 watts X 12 hrs/day = 18,000 watt hours
18,000 watt hours /1,000 = 18 kWh/day
18 kWh X $0.07385 = $1.33 each day running it 12 hours a day
$1.33 X 30 (days in a month) = $39.90 per month
