Part Time Customer Service Representative: Application Deadline May 23, 2008

PUD No 1 of Ferry County is accepting applications for a part-time/on-call Customer Service Representative.

The position will require knowledge of general office duties, functions and machines which will include a multi-line telephone

system; radio system; computer systems which will include Word and Excel programs as well as a specialized utility program;

and photo copier. This position will work directly with the public answering questions and accepting  payments.  The incumbent

must possess good customer service skills to work effectively  with the customers.  Salary based on current union scale.

Journeyman Lineman: Application Deadline May 28, 2008

 Ferry County P.U.D. #1 is seeking a Journeyman Lineman to work out of it's Republic, Washington office.  The Utility currently serves 5,007

service meters on 852 miles of line located in a rural portion of the state.  We are primarily a residential utility that is seeing some new

growth in commercial load.  We have 15 full time and three part time employees.  The Utility offers a competitive benefit package

including a personal leave plan, health, dental and life insurance, and long term disability, retirement and a deferred compensation plan. 

Becoming a member of Local 77 IBEW within 30 days of hire is required.

The Utility needs an individual trained in OSHA 1910.269 Safety standards, is familiar with RUS specifications and drawings, is experienced

in the use of all tools and equipment needed to construct, maintain, and repair overhead and underground distribution facilities. 

Applicants must have successfully completed a Washington State approved apprenticeship program and have three years Journeyman

experience in overhead & underground distribution.  Within 30 days of employment, must obtain a valid Washington State driver's license

with Class "A" CDL endorsement, forklift certificate, flagging certificate, and first aid/CPR certification.  Individual must also be available

for emergency call-outs on a rotating basis.  Good communication and interpersonal skills are required.  Salary $33.77 per hour (Union scale)

 

Republic is located in northeastern Washington State.  Primary employment consists of cattle ranches, some logging, mining, Government positions,

and local small businesses.  Many retirees have found the area and relocated here.  The area enjoys the four seasons of the year with average

annual precipitation of approximately fourteen inches of rain and snow combined.  Summer temperatures may reach the mid to upper 90's but

not for extended periods.
