For your convenience, we now accept Visa and MasterCard for payments!Customer Service
If you read your own meter you may submit your read to us online using our Monthly Meter Read Form, you may also call the office (775-3325) with your read, or you may write it on your bill in the space provided. The most important thing is that all meter reads need to be turned into our office no later than the 15th of every month. We no longer send our meter reader to read those meters for the customer's who have not provided a read. Any of our customer's who have not provided a meter read for two consecutive months will now be charged a $40.00 Non-Meter Read Fee. To avoid this extra expense please provide your reads each month by the 15th. New CustomersAre you new to our service area? Will you be requesting service? Stop by our office, located in Republic, or contact any one of our office staff at (509) 775-3325. We will need a completed application for utility service, a signature on the service work, and a deposit, signature card or a letter of credit. Deposit amounts will vary, depending upon the type of service requested. You can reach Joyce Dunn at if you have any questions on new accounts. Budget BillingFor those customers who would like to pay an "average" bill each month, Budget Billing is the way to go! Monthly budget billings are based on an average of the past 12 months usage. Basic charges and any miscellaneous charges are added to this to arrive at a monthly budget payment amount. The monthly budget payments are re-calculated annually and your past year's usage will determine if your payment will go up or down. Contact Jayne Jurgensen at if this plan is for you! Public PowerLocal consumer ownership of electric service - and therefore, local control - provides many benefits to public power consumers. Public Power systems offer customers a direct voice in establishment of service policies and rate structures, as well as design and siting of utility facilities. In addition to the local control provided by local ownership, there are economic benefits. On a nationwide average, rates of locally owned electric systems are lower than those of private power companies. Lower rates attract commercial and industrial enterprises, which provide employment for local residents. Community-owned electric utilities may contribute services, pay taxes, or make in-lieu-of-tax payments to city general funds, which offset higher city taxes. Every public power system's application of these benefits is different and depends on the system and the community's unique characteristics - another demonstration of the benefits of public power's local control.
